The jury is still out on whether I like it or not. The "wing" section is beautiful; here is a close-up:
In fact, both sections are beautiful – I'm just not sure I like them together. I can imagine doing two more stoles, one using a symmetrical version of the first part, and another with two wings. In fact, when Melanie writes up the pattern for sale, I think she is going to offer all three options. The true test will be to see it worn, after it is finished blocking. And now onto other things!

Hmm, that's a very unusual design. I'm not sure if I like that last part, but it's beautifully knitted! I think it's nice that she will offer several options when the pattern is published.
Congrats on a lovely piece of lace work!
I know exactly how you feel--I'm enjoying knitting the MS3, and decided to knit the wing because it was the original design, but now that I'm seeing finished pictures....I don't think I like it. Not that your knitting isn't wonderful, but I think I have a "need for symmetry" issue. :) I'm hoping one of my friends will like it & think it is a wonderful gift. Still, MS3 was a fun project!
well done for finishing it. I am also unsure as to whether I like it or not. I imagined really pointy end feathers as well which we didnt get.
Beautiful! You did a great job.
That is beautiful. I can't wait to finish mine.
